Effect of Reeducation of Core Fundamental Nursing Skills on Self-Directed Learning Ability, Self-Efficacy and Self-Confidence of Senior Nursing Students

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of reeducation of core fundamental basic nursing skills on self-directed learning ability, self-efficacy and self confidence of senior nursing students.
Methods: The subject of this study was 107 senior nursing students at college of nursing, Busan, South Korea. The self-directed learning ability, self-efficacy and confidence of core fundamental nursing skill performance of nursing students before and after the reeducation were evaluated using the structured survey.
Results: As a result of the study, the self-directed learning ability and self confidence were significantly improved.
Conclusion: Therefore, reeducation of core fundamental basic nursing skills will contribute as a nursing practice education.
